P&P today is all about the Exotic - mainly meaning designs inspired by a country that seems distant and different from your own. French company Maisons du Monde created a variety of looks inspired by countries such Mexico, Brazil, and Spain. We begin with a selection using ethnic motifs and colourful embroidery, with poms poms and South American brights. This is followed by Palm Springs and Rio living with vintage tropical style. Lavish, exotic with dense leave, palms and parrots. All as seen at Maisons du Monde.

My Maisons du Monde features are carrying over from last week. One because we had a day off to focus on the Sock Design Contest and two they have so many lovely things to see. The French based retailer was founded in 1996 and celebrates it's 20th birthday this year. It has nearly 200 stores in France with a further 69 across Europe including Italy where I came across them. There philosophy is to bring inspirational design to the market at affordable prices and they launched a UK website this year for the first time. Today's collection is called 'Modern Copper' and features lots of delicate geometric prints in stylish copper and rose gold with dusky pastel shades. See more online here at Maisons du Monde.
